We have had a crazy busy week in Southern Ontario! I’ve been taking snap-shots on my phone to document Isaac’s trip, as you’ll see we have been lots of places and done lots of things
On our way down little boy fell asleep in the car only an hour or so into the 9 hour drive. We had to wake him up to stop for dinner in North Bay and then he was the perfect little traveler for the rest of the drive to our hotel in Mississauga for the night.
At the hotel he was over the moon happy to have his own suitcase to take up the room. He got to carry his potty seat too
First thing he did when we got to our room was take all of the pillows off of the king sized bed and climb in claiming the ENTIRE bed as his and his alone! We did eventually get the bed back from him, but it wasn’t until almost midnight that he went to sleep. Sleeping in the same room as a tossing and turning toddler isn’t easy and 7am came much much too early. We spent the morning shopping at Ikea before making it to our final Southern Ontario destination, Forest.
Isaac had lots of fun playing in the kids bedroom area of Ikea but got tired and decided to have a little rest in the cart
I included the picture of PartSource because every time we drove past it Isaac got super excited and started yelling LINING MAKEENS HOOSE! LINING MAKEENS HOOSE! LINING MAKEENS HOOSE! (Lightening McQueen’s House!) which I found super cute. We finally made it to Forest and Isaac finally got to hang out with Piper puppy. Poor dog loves Isaac but gets so excited when he’s visiting she doesn’t sleep. Right now she’s laying on the floor staring up at me with droopy eyes but at the tiniest noise she perks right up so see what Isaac’s up to
Isaac got to visit with his Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncle, Great Aunts and Uncle, Cousins… There were two Easter Egg Hunts which have left us with a tonne of candy and lots of yummy dinners. No wonder our vacations never feel much like vacations!
Isaac had a huge potty breakthrough pretty much as soon as we got to Forest. Every time he had to go pee he would go and do everything pretty much by himself; pants down, climb up on the toilet, climb down, pants up, wash hands. It was awesome, however, that only lasted 5 or 6 days and now he’s back to being hit or miss with letting me know he has to go. Little steps and I know that he’ll be ready when he’s ready, but it was so nice while it lasted
We’re still down in Southern Ontario for a few more days and then it’s back to the real world with work and daycare!
Have a great week everyone!
